N95 mask dosen’t protect you from Coronavirus

According to Health Ministry India N95 mask with valves respirator doesn’t protect you from coronavirus.

In New regulatory Heath Ministry warned the use of N95 mask with valved respirator and other masks with valved respirator because it does not protect you from covid19.

What is N95 mask?

N95 masks are personal protective gear that protects the wearer from mainly pollution the particulate matter which is harmful to breath. There are two types of N95 mask one without valve respirator which is mainly used by healthcare workers and one with valve respirator which is normally used in polluted regions.

Why N95 mask with valve respirator you should not use?

The Health Ministry has told that N95 masks with valved respirators does not prevent the virus from escaping out of the mask. The valve is basically a ‘one-way valve’ that only protects the person wearing it and doesn’t filter the virus coming out. Hence, an asymptomatic carrier ( who doesn’t have symptoms of coronavirus) of the novel coronavirus can easily spread the infection to others when the valve releases the unfiltered exhaled air in the immediate surroundings. Thus, in a conjusted area, people around the carrier have a higher risk of potential exposure to the virus.

And mask without a valve will not allow the virus to spread.

You can use mask like made in home or normal N95 mask instead of using N95 mask with valve respirator.
