On Friday Google removed Paytm the biggest digital platform from Play Store, stating that the app was breaking privacy violations of Google India.

Which privacy policy Paytm has violated?

So basically Google has released it’s new guidlines and policy against gambling in country.

Paytm was allowing customers to play online games, which facilitated sports betting and due to this Google has taken down Paytm.

This is the first time Paytm’s main app has been removed from the Google Play Store, but other applications such as its wealth management app, Paytm money; merchant app, Paytm for Business; movie ticketing application, Paytm Insider, continue to be on the Play Store at present

In its blog, Google clarified that “we have same goals for our gambling policy. We don’t allow online casinos or support any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting. This includes if an app leads the consumer to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies and these policies to protect users from potential harm”.

While Paytm has not released any big statement but Paytm has informed its users on Twitter by tweeting, “Dear Paytmers Paytm android app is temporarily unavailable on Googe’s Play Store for new downloads or updates. It will be back very soon. All your money is safe, and you can continue to enjoy your Paytm app as normally.
