Does titan is our new home
One day earth will destroy because we know that nothing is permanent and everything get’s deleted sometime or someday so we have to find a new home and Saturn’s largest moon is one option and to know about it stay connected.
Titan was discovered on March 25, 1655, by the dutch astronomer Christian Huygens.
Huygens was inspired by Galileo’s discovery of Jupiter’s four largest moons in 1610 and his improvements in telescope technology. Christiaan, with the help of his older brother Constantijn Huygens.Jr., began building telescope around 1650 and discovered the first observed moon orbiting the saturn with one of the telescopes they built.
It was the sixth moon ever discovered, after Earth’s Moon and Galiliean moons of Jupiter.
When the first probe was sent to study saturn’s system it was seen that titan is to cold to support life but when two voyagers inspected the titan and determined the density, composition and temperature of the atmosphere and it was seemed that titan is special.
So scientist’s decided to explore more about titan therefore in 1997 Cassini-Huygens was launched to study in detail about Saturn and it’s special moon Titan and Cassini-Huygens spacecraft reached saturn.
On July 1, 2004 the Cassini probe flew by the titan and took the highest resolution image of Titan ever taken. Huygens was a probe that touched the Titan’s surface on January 14, 2005 and discovers the Tittan’s surface.
Methane Lake on Titan
After studying the Cassini-Huygens research it was found that liquid is present on the Titan and Titan become the second ever place which has presence of liquid in the form of lakes and sea but before you think to go and swim in the Titan’s lake I wan’t to tell you that the liquid which was present on Titan’s surface is not in the form of H2O(water) it was Methane but don’t be sad according to Janelle (Former Cassini Engineer) if you are armed with the right kind of protective gear, you can theoretically be able to swim without harm!
It has thick atmosphere that could help protect us from space radiation. it is so dense that we could actually attach wings to our arms and fly on the Titan.
It seems that Titan contain a global ocean beneath it’s ice shell according to some scientist’s there is microbial life present underneath this ocean.
Scientist surmise that the atmosphere of early Earth was similar in composition to the current atmosphere on Titan, with the important exception of a lack of water vapour on Titan.
New research provides a evidence of rainfall on the north pole. It has been speculated that life could exist in the lakes of liquid methane on Titan, just as organisms on Earth live in water.
Such organisms would inhale H2 in place of O2, metabolize it with acetylene instead of glucose, and exhale methane instead of carbon dioxide.
However, such hypothetical organisms would be required to metabolize at a deep freeze temperature of −179 °C.
