Covid19 positive teen sexually assaulted in South Delhi COVID care center

A 14-year-old girl, who was Covid19 +ve was admitted at a care center in South Delhi’s Chattarpur, was sexually assaulted by another patient in the washroom.

What happened that night?

On 15th July this incident took place at Sardar Patel COVID 19 care center when the girl has gone washroom the accused who is 19 years old also entered in washroom following her, and then in the washroom, he assaulted the girl.

According to the girl in a statement to police, she said she was sexually assaulted by the man and he also captured the act of assault on his mobile phone. But the police said the associate, did not sexually assault the girl.

Based on her complaint, a case was registered against the two men under section 376 (punishment for sexual assault) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the relevant provisions of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a senior police officer said.

The two accused have been arrested and send to judicial custody. After this incident, the victim was shifted to another COVID care centre and two accused, who are currently under judicial custody, were also sent to another center, where they are being treated. The mobile phones of the accused have been seized, the police said.
